help families survive cancer

About

I created this site to help my parents and other families who are trying to survive with cancer. Since software development is what I know and have been doing for almost 20 years, I decided this would be the best way I could help my parents and other families who are in need of help in coping with cancer, from seeking treatment to funding it. My grandmother and grandfather on my father’s side died from different cancers and they suffered through chemo/radiation up to the end. My mother, Linda Snyder, recently had surgery to remove some large cancerous masses from her colon that also required removing the part of her colon to which those masses were attached. Prior to the surgery the doctors noticed some spots on her liver that were seen in a CT scan so during surgery they took a biopsy to determine if it was also cancerous. The tests came back and she has stage IV cancer that started in her colon and now spread to her liver.

My mother read as much as she could about treatments and came across a book written by Suzanne Somers called “Knockout”. In this book she read about an alternative treatment to chemotherapy and radiation that Dr. Forsythe of Reno, NV has been testing for the past 4 or more years with promising results. The treatment along with the other medical bills for removing the masses from her colon will likely end up costing $40,000-$50,000 in all. Since she was only working part time when she was diagnosed, she didn’t have the best insurance and they only covered $2,500 of her surgery and they won’t cover anything further, telling her she is maxed out!  I’m doing everything I can to help her and eventually other families to find any way to pay for treatment without having to lose everything in the process.

I had this referpals.com domain for many years, putting various small applications up on it from time to time, and I figured it made sense to ask people to refer pals to help in this fight against cancer. I ask that you donate anything you can to help, whether you donate money using the paypal button on this site, or simply keep us and the others trying to survive cancer in your thoughts and prayers.
